Miller rescues late point for 10 man Lions
By Tony Shea
After dominating the ball for most of the game, even with 10 men, Pagham deservedly secured a last minute draw at Crawley Down.
Pagham snatched a late, late point at the Haven Centre on the 18th August after sub Lindon Miller made no mistake from close in after 97 minutes, with his first touch of the ball following his replacement of Ryan Cox. Already playing without several first-team players in Mitchell Hand, Howard Neighbour and Dan Simmonds for various reasons, the Lions task got harder in the 56th minute, when Andy Chick was sent off conceding the penalty which saw Oliver Leslie give the Anvils the lead from the spot, but they fought on and were rewarded with the late goal which keeps this season’s unbeaten record going.
Pagham’s Team was: James Binfield, Shay Wiggans, Ryan Cox, Ryan Davidson, Daryl Wollers, Jamie Horncastle, Andy Chick, Johan Van Driel, Howard Neighbour, George Gaskin, Callum Overton and James Thurgar. Subs: Mitchell Hand, Scott Murfin, Lindon Miller, Howard Neighbour and George Bingham.
